About Mr. Gruenhagen

Hello my name is Chris Gruenhagen and I am in charge of the fun and exciting world of Physical Education here at Medary.  I grew up in Mankato, Minnesota and graduated from Mankato West High School in 2002. After graduation I attended SDSU where I continued my education in the Physical Education/Teacher Education program while also running cross country and track and field for the Jacks. I had the fantastic opportunity of student teaching here in the Brookings School District both at the high school and here at Medary.  Following graduation I worked part time at Hy-Vee as well as did some substitute teaching. 

                When I’m not educating/chasing 500 different kids around the gym, I enjoy coaching the Bobcat cross country and track teams as well as running a bit on my own.  I also enjoy cycling, camping, hiking and skiing. In the summers I continue to work part-time at Hy-Vee and always love a vacation or two to my family’s cabin in northern Minnesota and visiting my brother and his family in the mountains of Colorado.
